Don Shula is the winningest coach in the history of the NFL. Shula began his career on the field as a player with the Cleveland Browns, Baltimore Colts and Washington Redskins. After his retirement in 1959, he joined the Detroit Lions in 1960 as an assistant coach and in 1963, at the age of just 33, was named head coach of the Colts. By 1970, Shula was the head coach of the Miami Dolphins, and it was with the Dolphins that he made history. The 1972 squad enjoyed the only perfect season in NFL history, winning all its regular season games and sweeping through the playoffs before capping things off with a Super Bowl VII victory. Shula ultimately was on the sidelines for 347 wins, won two Super Bowls, and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on July 26, 1997. Dan Marino, meanwhile, was one of the best quarterbacks to ever wear a Dolphins uniform. The only rookie quarterback to start a Pro Bowl, Marino spent 17 consecutive years as the Dolphin's QB and set 20 NFL records, including becoming the first quarterback to throw 4, 000 yards for six consecutive seasons and the only quarterback to throw a touchdown pass in every game of the season in 1986.
